AirPods Pro Firmware 5.1 (5B59) Has Been Released

The AirPods 2, 3, Pro, Pro 2, and Max have all received the 5B59 firmware update from Apple.

Every now and then, Apple releases new firmware updates for AirPods to make sure everything continues to work smoothly as you enjoy your favorite music, FaceTime conversations, and other activities. Today, the business unveiled 5B59, a brand-new firmware for its AirPods product range. This firmware update is very much appreciated because Apple last provided one at the end of last year.

We are unsure of what is new in this release, as usual. However, we can infer that this release just contains bug fixes and speed improvements. With the second-generation AirPods Pro, the battery was rapidly depleting and the charging case would display in the iOS and iPadOS widget as having no battery life. We are hoping that this update will address this issue.

The firmware for AirPods can be updated over the air when they are attached to an iOS smartphone, but there is no convenient mechanism to do it. After some time, forcing the update should be possible by placing the AirPods in the case, plugging them into a power source, and then pairing them with an iPad or iPhone.
