Skype users increase by 70% within a month

The count of Microsoft’s Skype video calling system users has increased by 70 percent within 30 days to 40 million people currently, as more people are staying home because of the coronavirus outbreak, the company shared recently.

The calling minutes within the app users have escalated 220 percent in comparison to the month earlier, the company informed.

Microsoft also shared that it is re-branding its famous productivity suite Office  365 to ‘Microsoft 365’ beginning April 21, with add on features like a family safety app which will help in managing screen time across Windows PCs, Android, and Xbox.

Stay-at-home stocks like video conferencing company Zoom Video Communication and various gaming stocks have witnessed an expansion recently as millions of users are expected to spend weeks or longer inside their homes.

The company also revealed that it is adding new features in its Microsoft Teams which is used by more than 44 million users every day, boosting the use of the workplace chat app among family and friends.
