State Bank of India (SBI) has now issued a new warning for its customers regarding fake APK links that are being circulated by fraudsters.

SBI Warns Customers Against Fake Banking App Update APK Links
Via a recent post shared on its official social media handle, the State Bank of India has warned users to “think before you click,” as fraudsters are sending fake APK links while claiming that a banking application needs to be updated.
Furthermore, these messages may create an urgency and ask users to update their banking app or risk losing access to it.

Download apps only from Play Store or App Store.

Additionally, all banking applications should only be downloaded or updated through the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. So, in case you have received such a message, better to ignore it or even if someone calls you to help you update your bank app, simply hang up the call and never download anything from unknown sources.
If you have become a victim of such cybercrime or receive a suspicious link, the incident can be reported by calling the National Cyber Crime Helpline number ‘1930’ or through the official National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal.
