Potential Iranian State-Sponsored Cyber Attacks May Target US Organizations, Says Official Report

While Iran has declared ceasefire and is currently discussing negotiation terms with regard to the war with Israel, a US official report that has now been published raises concerns towards a potential state-sponsored cyber attack. US Organizations Under Threat Over Potential Iranian State-Sponsored Cyber Attack

According to an official report titled – Iranian Cyber Actors May Target Vulnerable US Networks and Entities of Interest, and that is jointly published by CISA (Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency), FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation), DC3 (Department of Defense Cyber Crime Center), and NSA (National Security Agency), vulnerable US organizations could be targeted by Iranian state-sponsored or affiliated cyber attackers. The report further points out that Defense Industrial Base companies which possess holdings as well as relationships with Israeli research and defense organizations are particularly at increased risks, and they are advised to stay vigilant and ensure all the necessary counter measures. Also, poorly or not secured US devices and networks are also at risk, as hackers and Iranian cyber threat actors often target them.
