Electronics giant Apple Inc. has issued an emergency security updates to repair two of the zero-day vulnerabilities which was earlier breached by cyber attackers to hack the iPhones, iPads, or Macs.
Apple has released macOS Monterey 12.5.1 and iOS 15.6.1/iPadOS 15.6.1 to fix the vulnerabilities. Accordingly, the two of the vulnerabilities are same for all three operating systems. This vulnerability is out of limit vulnerability in the operating system Kernel. Kernel is a program which works as the basic component of an operating system in macOS, iPadOS, and iOS. Accordingly, a malware can use this vulnerability to perform code with the Kernel program. As this is one of the important program of an operating system, a malware can effectively take complete control over it.
A zero-day is a computer-software vulnerability, which are security risks known by the attackers before the software vendor becomes aware. Until the vulnerability is weakened, hackers can exploit it to affect the programs, data or a network. Consequently, these vulnerabilities are actively exploited in attacks.
These zero-days vulnerabilities only attacks it’s target, but still, the company has strongly advised the users to install recent security updates as soon as possible.
