Vivo Updates its OriginOS 5 Custom Skin With More New Features in China

Vivo – the Chinese consumer electronics maker has now updated its OriginOS 5 custom skin based on the Android 15 based operating system with more new features. These features are intended to improve its users’ experience, offering them with better functional and productivity capabilities.

Vivo’s OriginOS 5 – New Feature Updates in China

Firstly, Vivo has updated its Second Grab Engine (first in the industry) and it is supported in 70+ OriginOS 5 running devices. With the latest update, ticket grabbing has been made faster and more stable than before.

Speaking more, the Xiao V AI assistant can now handle 7 new dialect reading modes and users will be able to listen to articles that are in their hometown dialects with much better familiarity and sensibility. In order to access the new dialects, users will just have to open the document > swipe left to bring out the side bar > tap on ‘Xiao V Help Reading’ > and select the dialect tone.

Additionally, the Video to Dynamic/Live Photos capability is also an added feature update on OriginOS 5. Users can access it by opening the Photo Album > select the required video > tap on ‘Edit’ > click on Dynamic Photo > confirm the portion to edit > and then save it. With these simple steps, any videos can be converted as Dynamic/Live Photos on OriginOS 5.

About other related updates, just like most Chinese consumer electronics brands, Vivo will also be announcing many of its latest products this month in May 2025. These include the S30 series smartphones (S30 and S30 Pro mini models), Pad 5 tablet, TWS Air 3 earbuds, Watch 5 smartwatch, and 33W built-in power bank. Their official launch is set to take place on the 29th of May 2025, next week.

The Y19s Pro smartphone was also listed on multiple Malaysian retailer websites just recently and this device will be breaking its cover in Malaysia soon. Also, there is an X200 FE smartphone in works and it is said to be a re-branded S30 Pro mini. Vivo’s X200 FE is tipped to be unveiled by late June 2025, next month.
