The Finnish company Jolla has officially released the latest version of the SailfishOS, the SailfishOS 4.5. The latest OS can now be purchased from the official website of Jolla.

The SailfishOS 4.5
The SailfishOS is a Linux based operating system developed by the Finnish company named Jolla and was first featured in the brand’s own Jolla Phone of 2013 and later in the Jolla Tablet of 2015.
Both the devices are now unavailable, but Jolla still continues to build its operating system for selected smartphones, and the users of the selected smartphones will be able to buy the operating system from its official website.
The latest version of the SailfishOS has now been released by the company and users of the selected smartphones will be able to download the latest SailfishOS 4.5.
The supported devices includes,
- Sony Xperia 10
- Sony Xperia 10 Plus
- Sony Xperia 10 II
- Sony Xperia 10 III
- Sony Xperia X
- Sony Xperia XA2
- Sony Xperia XA2 Plus
- Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra
- Gemini PDA from Planet Computers
The users of the above mentioned smartphones will have to purchase the OS inorder to download and install it in their respective devices. The Sony Xperia smartphone users will have to pay an amount of €39.90 to purchase the OS. This is however a €10 on its original price of €49.90.
The users of the Gemini PDA(a mobile smartphone which has a clamshell design along with an integrated keyboard and is made by Planet Computers) will only have to pay a sum of €29.90 to purchase the product.
The trial version of the operating system can also be downloaded for free in the selected devices.
The company has also assured that they will provide its users with future software updates, customer support, MS Exchange support and will offer Android app support in their devices as well.
It is also to be noted that only the users in the countries included in the European Union, UK, Switzerland and Norway will be able to use the OS and using it in other countries is prohibited.
