Satellite Connectivity and Apps from unverified developers settings spotted on One UI 9 Beta 7 for Galaxy S26 Ultra

Just a few days ago, we shared with you that the One UI 9 Beta 7 update comes with a new custom Weather Card option within Now Brief for Galaxy S26 Ultra users. Well, this beta update is now reported to include two new settings for the S26 Ultra model: Apps from unverified developers and Satellite Connectivity (via @smasithick on X).

Apps from unverified developers & Satellite Connectivity settings: Spotted on One UI 9 Beta 7

According to the tipster, Android 17 adds a new “Apps from unverified developers” setting on One UI 9 Beta 7 on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. With this feature, Google now warns users before allowing apps from developers outside the verified ecosystem.

If you want to turn on this feature, you will get warnings like a possible scam alert, a mandatory 24-hour security delay, a device restart required to start the delay, and you will also be warned before installing apps from unverified developers.

The tipster revealed that even when he selected the “No One Asked Me” option, Android still required the 24-hour security delay.

However, when this feature was turned off, the tipster was able to install APKs normally on his device. This suggests that the full restriction may not be enabled yet, or this feature is still being rolled out.

Now, coming to Satellite Connectivity, the same tipster spotted a new Satellite Connectivity toggle in Quick Settings in One UI 9 Beta 7 on the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

The Satellite Connectivity feature says that you can stay connected when there’s no mobile or WiFi network, with support for Satellite SOS and messaging. But the activation of this feature currently seems to be blocked.

As per the images shared by the tipster, when the device is connected to a mobile/WiFi network, satellite is unavailable, while when enabling flight mode on the device, it shows that the device isn’t registered for Satellite SOS, and the registration requires internet.

Also, Satellite Messaging requires Google Messages as the default app. The tipster has specified in the comment section of his X post that this feature is not available in India.
