Samsung UI Watch 5 beta program is live in US and South Korea, brings these hidden changes

Finally, after much waiting One UI 5 Watch beta program is live for Samsung’s existing Wear OS 3 smartwatches. This was planned to go live in May but was later reported by SamMobile, a moderator on the official Korean language Samsung Community forums confirmed that the company won’t be accepting sign-ups for the One UI 5 Watch beta in May month.

As of now the beta program is live in the US and South Korea only. It will be rolled out for everyone in the phase.

You will see a lot of changes as per the changelog and some of the significant hidden changes. A Twitter user named Albert has shared some of the hidden changes that he observed after downloading this update.

Hidden changes

One of the first changes that he mentioned is a visual distinction between SMS and RCS messages. It shows Green for SMS and Blue for RCS. A new animation has also been added for swiping between tiles with the rotating bezel and opening apps. Changes have also been made in the battery widget which will show the battery percentage of connected devices in percentage. The user was also able to set multiple timers and timer tiles.

One of the most awaited features that we see in the Apple Watch is its accessibility through gestures that will also be available to users with this update. It will make it easy to control for people with disabilities. Additionally, users will also be able to see active apps in the background and its redesigned notifications. Albert mentioned in his tweet that holding the button on the Samsung keyboard would trigger voice dictation. Device care sleeping apps and modes like theatre and sleep mode will also be seen as per the Albert tweet.
