Following the beta programme, Samsung has now announced the stable rollout of its Android 17-based One UI 9 update for the Galaxy S26 series. With this, the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra have become the first Galaxy devices to receive the stable One UI 9 update.

Samsung One UI 9 Stable Update – Rollout and Features
As per Samsung’s press release, the stable One UI 9 rollout has already begun for the Galaxy S26 Series yesterday itself and in the coming days it will gradually be expanded to more eligible Galaxy devices. However, the title of being the first devices to launch with it is being held by Galaxy Z Fol8, Z Fold 8 Ultra and Z Flip 8.
Speaking of its Galaxy AI features, One UI 9 introduces My FanCam, which automatically tracks a selected person and keeps them centred while recording videos. Moreover, the Now Brief Cards allow users to create and edit personalised cards, and the Now Nudge provides contextual suggestions without requiring them to leave their current application.
Creative Studio has also been added and can suggest image-generation ideas based on upcoming events such as birthdays.
A new Warranty and Care section within Settings has been introduced with One UI 9, which allows users to check warranty coverage, run diagnostics, view repair estimates, manage Samsung Care+, and book service appointments. There is also an Interpreter Thread View that can display previous translated conversations, and within this there is a Conversation Mode which offers faster translations and quicker playback through compatible Galaxy Buds.
The Document Scan feature has also been improved to scan curved book pages and folded documents. Additionally, Finger Eraser can remove fingers accidentally captured while scanning, whereas Voice Recorder can now organise generated summaries using headings and tables.
Similar to what we had seen in Oppo’s ColorOS 16, One UI 9’s Security Brief feature brings malware warnings, unknown-app alerts, and notices regarding unnecessary permissions to Now Brief. Privacy Alerts, which is another important feature, uses on-device AI to identify potentially unnecessary background permission requests and will be available on selected Galaxy S, Galaxy Z Fold, Galaxy Z Flip, and Galaxy Tab models.
Scam Detection is also going to be available in India, Japan, and Canada to help tackle with potentially fraudulent calls.
