At the 2026 Vivo Developer Conference held in China today, the brand has officially revealed the features and upgrade schedule of its OriginOS 7 software version, which is based on Android 17. Along with introducing a new light-and-shadow-inspired visual design, the update will be rolled out to eligible Vivo and iQOO smartphones and tablets in multiple batches starting next month.

OriginOS 7 – Features and Upgrade Schedule
OriginOS 7 introduces new Light and Shadow Aesthetics, along with an Immersive Home Screen, redesigned icons, and upgraded AI lighting effects. Dynamic Translucent Material and Dynamic Light and Shadow Lighting effects have also been revealed, offering a more layered visual appearance across the interface.
The Dynamic Translucent Material feature also supports manual texture switching, allowing users to select between Realistic, Natural, and Soft interface texture options.
With this new OriginOS 7 upgrade, new AI Pet themes, Liquid themes, personalised clock styles, the Atomic Sticker Library, and Flash Card themes have also been introduced. To note, some features will only be supported on selected models, while the AI Pet themes may include free trial benefits and certain paid services.
Regarding the upgrade schedule, the OriginOS 7 rollout will begin on 9th October 2026 and continue in multiple phases until the end of January 2027.
