OnePlus Temporarily Suspends OxygenOS 16.0.7.XXX and 16.0.5.XXX Update Rollout Citing Abnormal Restart and Boot Issues

OnePlus has reportedly halted the rollout of the OxygenOS 16.0.7.XXX and OxygenOS 16.0.5.XXX updates for several of its smartphones after some users started reporting issues following the installation of the updates.

According to OnePlus, the updates have been paused because some users who received the new versions reportedly experienced abnormal restart and boot-related issues after updating their devices. In a statement shared by OnePlus, the company said, “To ensure device stability and protect user experience, we have immediately paused the rollout of the above-mentioned builds while our engineering team investigates the root cause and prepares a fix.”

Apart from this, OnePlus has also mentioned that the rollout will only resume once the issue has been resolved and properly validated by its engineering team. However, the company has not yet shared any definite timeline regarding when the rollout will continue.

Coming to the affected users, OnePlus has currently not shared any official details regarding support or temporary fixes for users already facing the issue. So, if your device has received the OxygenOS 16.0.7.XXX or OxygenOS 16.0.5.XXX update, it would be better to avoid installing the update for now. As stated by OnePlus, the company will likely resume the rollout with a proper announcement through its official community channels once the issue is fixed.
