OnePlus Pad OxygenOS 14 Open Beta 1 Program Begun: Applications Invited

The Chinese smartphone maker, OnePlus, has made its very first tablet device – the OnePlus Pad eligible for the brand’s first OxygenOS 14 open beta program.

Here’s more about it.

OnePlus Pad – OxygenOS 14 Open Beta 1 Program

This open beta program for the OnePlus Pad tablet device is only for Indian users and among the applicants, 5000 eligible candidates will be selected. Applicants must also keep in mind that the beta version of the OxygenOS 14 custom skin won’t be as stable as the stable version, and might possibly have issues and bugs within. Screen flashes are one of the known issues, caused when users switch between portrait and landscape modes.

Some of the notable changes that can be experienced include the added Aquamorphic-themed ringtones, revamped system notification sounds, smoother animations, improved system stability & app launch speed, better photo & video permission management system, and improved cloud photo service from Google Photos.

How to apply?

OnePlus Pad Indian users who are interested in the Beta program can submit their applications by going to the device’s “Settings”, selecting “About device”, tapping on “Up to date”, and pressing on the icon that can be found on the top right corner of the screen. From the menu, choose “Beta program”, and follow the necessary steps.

The application submitted will be reviewed in five days or so, and the update will be rolled out in the next three days. Download it and install it to experience the first beta version of the latest OxygenOS 14 custom UI based on the Android 14 operating system.

To note, it should be ensured that the device currently runs on the OxygenOS 13.1 version before applying, and before updating, there should be at least 30% battery charge and at least 4GB of free storage left in the device. Carrier exclusive model won’t be considered as eligible for the program.

Roll-Back

Users who would like to go back to the previous stable version will be able to do so after downloading the installation package from the respective OnePlus page and then locally installing it. After the process, the previous stable version will be integrated to the device. Do keep in mind that the process will wipe out all the system data, so users must backup the device to not lose any valuable data.
