Nothing Begins Nothing OS 3.0 Rollout: Here’s When Your Phone Will Get It

Nothing has officially begun the rollout of Nothing OS 3.0, its Android 15-based operating system, starting with Phone (2) and Phone (2a). Users can now check for the update by heading to Settings > System Update on their devices, though the company notes that availability will vary by region as part of a gradual rollout.
Here’s when your Nothing phone will receive the update:

Getting the Update Now (End of 2024):

  • Nothing Phone (2)
  • Nothing Phone (2a)

Coming in Early 2025:

  • Nothing Phone (1)
  • Nothing Phone (2a) Plus
  • CMF Phone 1

The new update brings significant improvements including a native gallery app with advanced search and editing tools, customizable lock screen features, and an AI-powered Smart Drawer for better app organization.

A standout feature is the new Shared Widgets functionality, though it currently has some limitations – it only works between Nothing devices and is limited to square Photo Widgets. The company promises support for additional widget types in future updates.

Other notable improvements include:

  • Enhanced Quick Settings
  • Improved Pop-up view
  • Visual and performance enhancements
  • Updated typography

Nothing is also introducing a Countdown Widget, which will be available separately through the Nothing Widgets app on Google Play later this month.
The company has thanked its beta testers and is actively seeking feedback from users as the general release rolls out to devices worldwide.
