Microsoft Releases New Windows 10 March 2025 Security Updates

Microsoft has now released its Windows 10 March 2025 security updates. The March 2025 security preview release for versions 21H2, 22H2, 1809, 1607; Windows Server 2016, and 1507 are now available.

Versions 21H2 and 22H2 (KB5053606)
The KB5053606 release for the Windows 10 21H2 and 22H2 versions have OS builds of 19044.5608 and 19045.5608. This update is pointed out to address security issues on the Windows operating system, and contains certain improvements too. Also, for the Windows 10 21H2 version’s Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021 and Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 editions, additional miscellaneous security improvements will also be brought to the internal OS functionality.
Version 1809 (KB5053596)
The KB5053596 release has an OS build of 17763.7009, and it will also be addressing a few security issues on the Windows 10 version 1809. Moreover, a few improvements which include DST changes for Paraguay, support for GB18030-2022 amendment, store temporary files in the secure C:\Windows\SystemTemp (by calling GetTempPath2 API or by using .NET’s GetTempPath API), and Open Secure Shell (OpenSSH) fix, will be brought to the system.
Version 1607; Windows Server 2016 (KB5053594)
The KB5053594 release with the OS build of 14393.7876 also addresses security issues, and will bring improvements such as storing temporary files in the secure C:\Windows\SystemTemp (by calling GetTempPath2 API or by using .NET’s GetTempPath API), Use-after-free (UAF) risk fix, and DST changes for Paraguay.
Version 1507 (KB5053618)
The KB5053618 release for the Windows 10 1507 version, addresses the security issues of the operating system, and brings the DST changes for Paraguay and use-after-free (UAF) risk fix as improvements.
