In March, President of Windows and Devices, Pavan Davuluri, talked about some initial changes that were said to be rolled out to Windows Insiders to raise the bar on Windows 11 quality.
The changes included: more taskbar customisation, AI integration where it’s most meaningful, reducing disruptions from Windows updates, faster and more dependable File Explorer, more control over widgets and feed experiences, a simpler and more transparent Windows Insider program and an improved Feedback Hub experience.
Many of these improvements have been rolling out to Windows Insiders over the last few months, and it is said that they will start rolling out more broadly across Windows 11 PCs beginning this fall.
Initially, Microsoft focused on three areas: performance, stability and well-crafted experiences. Pavan Davuluri has now announced that, by staying focused on these areas, the company is now expanding to four new ones. Among the new areas, the highlight was Windows optimisation for 8GB PCs.

With the ongoing memory crisis and rising prices, it is highly unlikely that users will go for an upgrade. Microsoft is now preparing a series of optimisations for Windows 11 to make the OS run smoothly on machines with 8GB RAM. The company will be reducing Windows’ memory footprint to deliver a fast and responsive Windows experience.
