iQOO revises the update policy of iQOO 12 5G smartphone; Device gets additional 1 Year OS & Security update

The smartphone brand iQOO officially unveiled its iQOO 12 5G smartphone in December 2023 and at the time of launch the company introduced an update policy for the device as per which it was said to receive 3 Android OS updates and 4 years of security updates.

iQOO has now revised the updated policy of the iQOO 12 5G smartphone and now the smartphone gets an additional 1 year of OS and security update.

This means iQOO 12 will now receive 4 Android OS updates (up to Android 18) and 5 years of security updates (until 2028). This revised update policy is indeed a piece of good news for all the iQOO 12 5G users. Also, this revised update policy matches with the iQOO 13 5G update policy, though the difference is that iQOO 12 came with Android 14 while iQOO 13 made its debut with Android 15.

iQOO 12 5G: Specifications

iQOO 12 5G smartphone features a 6.78-inch wide LTPO AMOLED 1.5K display with 144Hz refresh rate and 3,000 nits of peak brightness. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset paired with iQOO’s own Q1 supercomputing chip and Adreno 750 GPU. It packs up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512 GB UFS 4.0 storage.

It is backed by a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 120W fast wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse charging. In the camera section, the smartphone features a 50MP primary shooter with OIS support, a 50MP ultra wide-angle camera lens, and a 64MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. For selfies, it boasts a 16 MP front camera.
