vivo had earlier announced that its 2026 vivo Developer Conference will be held on 16th September 2026, where the brand will officially unveil OriginOS 7 and Blue River OS 4. Now, HONOR has also officially announced that its 2026 HONOR Global Developer Conference (HGDC) will take place a day earlier, on 15th September 2026, in Shenzhen, China.
During the main forum, scheduled between 7 PM and 8 PM, HONOR will officially unveil its next-generation MagicOS 11 operating system.
Ahead of their respective developer conferences, both brands have now shared new updates regarding the early testing of their upcoming operating systems. HONOR has reopened the first-batch internal beta recruitment for MagicOS 11, whereas vivo has started a new OriginOS 7 internal beta recruitment covering several vivo and iQOO devices.

HONOR MagicOS 11 – Internal Beta Recruitment Reopened
Starting with HONOR, the brand has reopened the internal beta registration channel for the first batch of devices eligible to test MagicOS 11.

Eligible users can register by heading to Settings > System and Updates > Software Update > Three-dot menu > Upgrade Early Access > Internal Beta Registration.
MagicOS 11
HONOR has also revealed that users registering during this latest recruitment round may receive the internal beta version shortly after successful registration.
Speaking more about MagicOS 11, the upcoming operating system will bring a new visual experience with Liquid Glass-style elements and liquid animations, along with improvements to overall system smoothness.
HONOR has claimed an improvement of more than 20% in overall device smoothness, while the operating system will also bring storage optimisation features capable of freeing up to 60GB of storage on supported devices.
Other teased additions include multi-protocol fast charging support, improved network selection, support for connecting two Bluetooth earphones simultaneously, 4K Live Photo capture while recording video, and several AI-related improvements.
One of the major highlights will be HONOR’s new system-level Agent Harness, with MagicOS 11 integrating proactive services and automated execution more deeply with the company’s YOYO AI assistant.
The complete MagicOS 11 experience will officially be revealed during the 2026 HONOR Global Developer Conference on 15th September 2026.
OriginOS 7 – Internal Beta Recruitment
Moving to vivo, the brand has now opened another internal beta recruitment round for OriginOS 7, covering a total of 14 vivo and iQOO devices.

- Starts: 7th September 2026 at 10 AM
- Ends: 13th September 2026 at 11:59 PM
Each eligible model has been allocated 3,000 internal beta testing slots, comprising 500 Log-enabled testers and 2,500 testers without Log enabled.
The selected tester list is expected to be announced by 10 PM on 15th September, while the internal beta version is scheduled to be pushed between 3 PM and 6 PM on 16th September 2026.

How to Register
Users with an eligible vivo or iQOO device will first need to update their smartphone or tablet to the latest available software version.
Following this, they can head to:
Settings > System Management and Upgrade > System Update > Two-dot Menu > Upgrade Early Access > Internal Beta Registration > View Details
Users can then follow the on-screen instructions to complete their registration.
As this is still an internal testing build, vivo has also warned that users may encounter bugs, abnormal battery consumption, or third-party application compatibility issues. Hence, users are advised to back up their important data before installing the beta software.
OriginOS 7 will officially be unveiled during the 2026 vivo Developer Conference on 16th September 2026, alongside Blue River OS 4 and other developments related to vivo’s AI and software ecosystem.
With both HONOR and vivo preparing to unveil their next-generation operating systems just a day apart, more details regarding MagicOS 11 and OriginOS 7 are expected to be revealed during their respective developer conferences.
