Developers with these devices can get an early view of the latest features and AI capabilities. It is said that the beta program will expand to more models. The HarmonyOS 7 developer beta is based on API 26. There are only 15,000 openings.

Once the developers confirm the software’s stability, a public beta version will also be released. HarmonyOS 7 official version will be released in the fall of 2026 with the Huawei Mate 90 series.

HarmonyOS 7: Features

The upgrade comes with a spatial personalisation feature that uses the system’s hardware capabilities to turn any scene into a 3D effect and present it on the phone screen for lock screen or wallpaper. The sliders and buttons in the UI now arrive with a light effect (like Apple’s liquid glass design).

HarmonyOS 7 focuses on Agentic AI. The AI Assistant’s system integration capability is increased to support more in-app commands and complete users’ requests. With the AI Assistant, users will now be able to generate a broad range of text content, ask real-time information much faster, and perform system-level tasks.

New personalisation features and new photo editing options are included in the HarmonyOS 7. There is also the HarmonyOS Intelligent Agent Framework 2.0. Users will get to experience faster task execution and improvement while launching applications or streaming online content.
