Xiaomi’s 14 Ultra Launch Date Confirmed; Design & Camera Specs, Color Choices, and Production Details Shared

rThe Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer, Xiaomi, has confirmed the launch date of its latest 14 Ultra smartphone and this device as expected will be debuting this month in the brand’s home market. Along with the launch date, other details such as its design aspects, camera specs, color variants, and production details have been shared as well.

The much awaited Xiaomi 14 Ultra flagship will be released in China on the 22nd of February 2024 itself, and the debut will be taking place at 7:00 PM local time. As is known, the device has been made with the strategic partnership of Leica.

Even if the smartphone’s camera module appears to be similar to that of the previous Xiaomi 13 Ultra’s, the brand claims it to be a completely new (maybe refreshed) camera design with many advanced technologies. The smartphone is also revealed to have an innovative and immersive full-depth micro-curved display, as well as a straight and clean back curve. It is full wrapped in a metal frame and carries exquisite details. As was noted previously, a more refined camera ring design is also part of the device – Textured Gold Ring with Paris Stud Pattern.

Regarding the revealed camera specs, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra device will be sporting new Leica Summilux flagship dual telephoto lenses, comprising of a 75mm upright telephoto lens with f/1.8 large aperture and a 120mm periscope telephoto lens with f/2.5 large aperture. The two also uses the Sony IMX858 camera sensor with higher dynamic range and greater light input [3.2x and 5x zoom capabilities].

About the main camera, it will be a Leica Summilux optical lens with 136% more light input capability. The camera sensor will be the second generation Sony LYT900 one-inch image sensor, supporting a second generation step-less variable aperture of up to f/1.63.

The brand has also confirmed that the soon-to-be-unveiled Xiaomi 14 Ultra smartphone will be made available in White and Black color choices. Apart from the White and Black colors, a Bay Blue color variant can also be expected.

Xiaomi’s 14 Ultra smartphone will be manufactured in the brand’s new smart factory located in Changping, Beijing, with an annual output capacity of 10 million units. The production process will be fully automated and digitalized, with 96.8% self-research rate for group testing and equipment packaging, and 100% self-research rate for the factory’s software.

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra smartphone is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, and is expected to have the brand’s Surge C4 imaging chip and the HyperOS custom skin. A 6.73″ 2K 120Hz AMOLED display screen maybe featured and a 50MP(Sony LYT900 OIS primary shooter) + 50MP(ultrawide) + 50MP(telephoto) + 50(periscope telephoto) quad rear camera setup (Leica-branded). A 32MP selfie camera is also being expected. The device is also likely to have a larger 5300 mAh battery, which is possibly going to support 90W wired and 50W wireless fast charging features.
