The Chinese smartphone maker, Xiaomi, is expected to launch its latest 14 series smartphones before the month of November this year and now, ahead of its launch, an update has revealed the base storage variant of the series. Comparing the price with the previous models, the basic retail price of Xiaomi’s 14 series smartphones is also said to decrease.

Here’s more about it.

Xiaomi 14 Series Base Variant – 12GB/256GB

Xiaomi’s 14 series will include four smartphone models, of which, the Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi 14 Pro, and the Xiaomi 14 Pro Special Edition(probably going to launch as 14 Pro Plus) smartphones are expected to debut this year itself. As per what has been tipped now, unlike the previous Xiaomi 13 series, this year’s 14 series devices won’t have an 8GB/128GB storage variant, but will start with the 12GB/256GB option.

To add to this, the 12GB/256GB storage variant will also be available for the same price of the 8GB/128GB variant, pointing out that the basic retail price of the Xiaomi 14 series will be lower than that of the 13 series.

Expected Specifications

Regarding the expected specifications of the smartphones, we are expecting the devices to come equipped with Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.

The vanilla Xiaomi 14 smartphone is said to have a flat display and the Pro model is likely to have a 2.7D quad-curved display. Previously, it was also tipped that the Pro variant is to have flat and curved display variants.

Other features that are expected include the 4K video recording support on the front cam and the USB 3.2 connectivity. The Pro variant is also likely going to feature a titanium alloy frame and may have satellite communication support.

About its charging specs, the vanilla 14 smartphone may be backed by a 4,860 mAh battery with 90W fast charge support, whereas the Pro model is probably going to pack an even larger 5000 mAh battery with a faster 120W fast charge support. A 50W wireless charging support is also expected on the two devices.

As far as their official appearances are concerned, the smartphones of the series were spotted on the European EEC certification platform as well as on the IMEI database.
