Upcoming Xiaomi 14 Pro Smartphone May Not have the Periscope Telephoto Lens: Suggests Tipster

Xiaomi’s next flagship devices of the 14 series are expected to first make their debut in the month of November this year, and the Ultra model is likely to be launched early next year. Apart from the Ultra model, the series will include the Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi 14 Pro, and the Xiaomi 14 Pro Special Edition(which might probably arrive as Xiaomi 14 Pro+).

Now, a recent update points out that the upcoming Xiaomi 14 Pro is likely to arrive without a periscope telephoto lens.

Here’s more about it.

Xiaomi 14 Pro – Periscope Telephoto Lens Cancelled

This update comes from the tipster, Kartikey Singh, who has posted on the Twitter/X platform stating that the news regarding the cancellation of the periscope macro lens of the Xiaomi 14 Pro smartphone is true. The upcoming Xiaomi 14 Pro smartphone, as mentioned by the tipster, won’t have the 1-inch camera sensor or the periscope telephoto camera.

Just to add, the previous Xiaomi 13 Pro smartphone features a triple camera setup at its rear with a 50.3MP primary camera, 50MP telephoto camera, and a 50MP ultrawide camera.

Speaking about the other recent updates concerning the upcoming smartphone, a variant of the Xiaomi 14 Pro(Presumably the Special Edition model) was tipped to have a titanium alloy middle frame along with a ceramic rear panel and a nano-ceramic glass cover on its display. The device is also expected to support satellite communication technology and is possibly going to come equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.

The first look images of the 14 Pro smartphone were also revealed online, which featured the upcoming device in Black, Light Blue, Light Green, and White colors. Like the Special Edition model, the Xiaomi 14 Pro has also been tipped to have a titanium body and is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. A 5000 mAh battery, supporting 120W wired and 50W wireless charging features, is also expected.

Xiaomi’s 14 Pro smartphone has also been spotted on two official databases as well, and this includes the European EEC certification platform and the IMEI database.
