Tecno Phantom V Flip 5G Bluetooth SIG certified, launching soon to rival Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5

Tecno, without explicitly expressing it, seems to be challenging Samsung in the realm of foldable smartphones. In February, Tecno unveiled the Phantom V Fold as a competitor to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series. Now, there are indications that Tecno might be gearing up to release a flip phone to rival the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 5, reportedly slated for a July 26 launch. The Bluetooth SIG authority has granted approval to Tecno’s Phantom V Flip 5G, suggesting that its launch may be just around the corner.

The above screenshot shows the Phantom V Flip 5G with model number AD11 in the database of Bluetooth SIG authority. The listing confirms that the device will support Bluetooth 5.3. To recall, the Phantom V Fold foldable phone was spotted in December 2022 before going official in February this year. Hence, it is likely that the Phantom V Flip 5G may debut in July or August.

In the previous month, a Twitter user (@Bronya_0916) shared live images of the Phantom V Yoga. Among these images was one that displayed the device’s key specifications, indicating its model number as AD11. The Bluetooth certification suggests that the final marketing name for the Yoga V will be “Tecno Phantom V Flip 5G.”

The Phantom V Flip 5G’s foldable display will support 1080 x 2640 pixels. It will be powered by the Dimensity 8050 chipset, 8 GB of RAM, 8 GB of virtual RAM, and 256 GB of storage. The device will pack a 4,000mAh battery with 66W fast charging support. It will run on Android 13 OS, which will be overlaid with HiOS 13.

It will have a 32-megapixel camera on the front and a 64-megapixel dual-camera setup on the back. It has a round camera module on the back, which includes a ring flash and a laser autofocus unit.
