Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 2024 receives GCF certification, likely to launch soon

Samsung is reportedly working on a budget-friendly tablet named the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 2024. The moniker was first spotted, along with its SM-P625 model number, in the IMEI database earlier this month. It will arrive as a renewed version of the original Tab S6 Lite that debuted in 2020. Now, the 2024 edition has received approval from the Global Certification Forum, indicating that its launch may not be far away.

The approval of the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 2024 by the Global Certification Forum suggests that it will work seamlessly across different cellular networks around the world. The certification mentions the network bands supported by the device. While it confirms support for 4G LTE bands, there is no support for 5G.

The recent Geekbench listing of the device has suggested that the device will be equipped with the Exynos 1280 chipset and 4 GB of RAM. A good thing is that the tablet was found running on the latest Android 14 OS. Unfortunately, nothing else is known about the other specs of the device.

To recall, the original Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2020) came equipped with the Exynos 9611 chipset. In 2022, the company also launched new variants of the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. The 2022 variants came in Snapdragon 732G and Snapdragon 720G chipset options depending on the market. Apart from differing in the chipset department, the 2020 and 2022 models offered identical specs, such as a 10.4-inch LCD panel, 4 GB of RAM, up to 128 GB of storage, a 7,040mah battery with 15W charging, an 8-megapixel front camera, and an 8-megapixel rear camera.
