Realme is expected to launch its next flagship phone, the Realme GT 5 Pro, in November or December in China. It will be the company’s first smartphone to feature a periscope telephoto camera. There have been reports that the Realme 12 Pro series of mid-range phones will also be equipped with a periscope telephoto camera. A new leak, courtesy of tipster Digital Chat Station, has revealed the expected optical zoom cameras for the Realme 12 Pro and 12 Pro+.
As per the new leak, the Realme 12 Pro will be equipped with a 32-megapixel Sony IMX709 telephoto camera offering 2x optical zoom. On the Realme 12 Pro+, the company is expected to provide a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom support.
The Realme GT 5 Pro, featuring the company’s periscope zoom camera, is likely to be priced at around 4,000 Yuan (~$546). However, the Realme 12 Pro series, being a mid-range offering, is likely to cost around 2,000 Yuan (~$273).
Last year, the Realme 10 Pro series was announced in November in China. With the company already teasing the GT 5 Pro in the home market, it is likely that the flagship phone may debut in November, while the Realme 12 Pro series may break cover before the end of this year.
At present, there is no information available on the other specifications of the Realme 12 Pro and 12 Pro+. Hence, it is advisable to wait for further leaks to know more about these devices.
