Alleged OPPO Find X8, X8 Ultra chipsets tipped well before launch

In January, OPPO introduced the Find X7 and Find X7 Ultra smartphones exclusively in China. While the Ultra variant won’t see a global release, there is uncertainty surrounding the global availability of the standard X7. However, anticipation mounts for the potential global release of the Find X8 series, expected to debut possibly next year. Ahead of its anticipated launch, a recent leak on Weibo has disclosed the chipset names set to power both upcoming smartphones.

Based on the news obtained from the supply chain, tipster Smart Pikachu has claimed that the next-generation flagship phone from OPPO will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. The said device is likely to be called the Find X8 Ultra when it arrives on the market.

On the other hand, the Find X8 may feature the Dimensity 9400 chipset and an optical in-display fingerprint scanner. The leaker did not share any other information about the X8 series.

In related news, OPPO is also said to be working on the Find X7 Ultra Satellite Communication Version for the Chinese market. As the moniker suggests, the device is expected to support two-way satellite communication, a feature that is unavailable in the regular X7 Ultra. The said device is expected to launch in March in China. In Q2, the company is likely to release the Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro smartphones in the Chinese market.
