iQOO 12 5G will be India’s First Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Smartphone: Officially Confirmed

It is now official that the iQOO 12 5G smartphone scheduled to debut next month in China, will also be arriving to the Indian market as the country’s first Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 smartphone.

iQOO 12 5G – First Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Smartphone in India

iQOO India CEO, Nipun Marya, has now officially confirmed via his Twitter/X account that the soon-to-be-unveiled iQOO 12 5G device will be India’s first smartphone to have the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset onboard, as previously revealed. The Pro model is however likely going to be an exclusive product to the brand’s home market in China.

Recent updates have revealed that the smartphone will be equipped with a dedicated display processor, along with hardware accelerated ray tracing. It is also said to support 144 FPS.

To add, iQOO has also been reported to have partnered with BMW M Motorsport, and just like the predecessor, the iQOO 12 5G will also have the Legend Edition(White) with the tricolor BMW M stripes. The smartphone has also been tipped to arrive in Black and Red colors as well.

Previous updates have also suggested the device to feature a 1.5K E7 AMOLED display with an optical fingerprint scanner, and a triple rear camera unit with a periscope telephoto lens. The UFCS certification of the device had also revealed that it will pack a 5000 mAh battery, likely with 120W fast charge support.

iQOO will launch its flagship 12 and 12 Pro smartphones on the 7th of November 2023, next month, in the Chinese market, at 7PM local time, after which we’ll be able to confirm the above mentioned specs.
