Improved battery capacity, charging and much more about the Google Pixel 8 series leaked ahead of its launch

While Google is gearing up for the launch of the Google Pixel 8 series, the tech world is buzzing with its alleged specs and features. Its leaked renders suggested some of the changes that Google can bring in Google Pixel 8 series smartphones later got confirmation when Google Pixel 8 Pro first ever real-life recording leaked. In recent times some of the features regarding improved camera systems, brand-new displays, support for USB DisplayPort alternate mode, and even new wallpapers came out and now it’s about the batteries, charging, and Wi-Fi has been leaked by Android Authority.

Battery and charging

Android Authority through a source inside Google has come to know that Google Pixel will not only see a bump in battery but also in the charging power which has been quite less focussed for the Pixel smartphones. It revealed that Pixel 8 will come with a battery capacity of 4,485 mAh in comparison to Pixel 7 which came with 4,270 mAh and Pixel 8 Pro will come with a 4,950 mAh battery. And if we talk about the charging, Pixel 8 will support 24 W charging whereas the Pixel 8 Pro will support 27 W charging. This can’t be said as a major upgrade because Chinese brands have already gone up to 240 W charging support. It also revealed that we won’t get to see any change in wireless charging support.

Wifi chip

Google is also expected to upgrade the chip to BCM4398, which supports Wi-Fi 7, for both the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. Since Google Pixel 6 series, phones have included flagship grade BCM4389 chip that supported the Wi-Fi 6E standards which are now expected to upgrade in the Pixel series smartphones as per the Android Authority.

Ultra wideband

Ultra wideband(UWB) is a wireless technology that lets you measure the precise distance between devices. This feature first came in Google Pixel 6 Pro then came in Google Pixel 7 Pro. And following the trend Android Authority said it will be only seen in the Google Pixel 8 Pro smartphones.
