Honor Magic V2 Foldable Smartphone Launched in China: Price Starting From CNY 8,999

Honor has finally unveiled its fourth foldable smartphone in China today, the Honor Magic V2 and the device has been launched at a starting price of CNY 8,999. The foldable is available in two storage options and four colour choices.

Honor Magic V2 

The newly launched foldable device from Honor is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (Leading Version) chipset from Qualcomm. It will have a primary clock speed of 3.36GHz and is made using the 4nm process technology. The device also supports Wi-Fi 7 with a speed of 5.8 Gbps and will offer a 435% increase in its AI computing power. The device runs on the Android 13-based MagicOS 7.2 custom UI.

Speaking about its dimension, comparing to other foldables the latest Honor Magic V2 is thinner and light in weight. The device weighs only 231 grams and is 9.90 mm thin.

Now for its display, the device features a 120Hz LTPO OLED foldable inner display of 7.92 inches and has a 10:9 screen ratio. The display also supports a peak brightness rate of 1600 nits, a UHF PWM dimming of 3840Hz, HDR10+ high dynamic range, 100%DCI-P3 color gamut, and 1.07 billion colors. Regarding its cover display, the device has the same 120Hz LTPO OLED display but with a screen size of 6.43 inches. The cover display has an aspect ratio of 20:9 and will have a peak brightness rate of 2500 nits. The cover display also supports UHF PWM dimming of 3840Hz, HDR10+ high dynamic range, 100%DCI-P3 color gamut, and 1.07 billion colors.

Both the internal and external displays have pen support, offering extra convenience to its users. The crease on the inner display is also very less(36 microns which is approximately half the diameter of a human hair) and even after 4,00,000 folds, the device will remain flat. The hinge is made from titanium alloy and is strong and relatively light in weight.

Coming to its cameras, the device features a triple camera setup at its rear with a 50MP ultrawide camera, 50MP OIS wide-angle camera, and a 20MP OIS telephoto camera. The cameras are powered by the Honor Image Engine[Honor Eagle Eye Camera]. The device also has a selfie camera of 16MP.

Finally coming to its battery backup, the device features a new generation Qinghai Lake dual battery with a total battery capacity of 5000 mAh. The battery which powers the device is just 2.72mm thick and supports a fast charge feature of upto 66W. It also supports a 5W reverse wired charging feature as well.

In the Chinese market, the Honor Magic V2 foldable device has been launched in two storage options of 16GB/256GB and 16GB/512GB with price points of CNY 8,999 and CNY 9,999 respectively. Four color choices for the device are also available and customers can pick from Elegant Black, Velvet Black, Yunxia Gold, and Purple colors.

The pre-sales of the Honor Magic V2 device is to start today at 21:30 local time in China and it will be made available for open sales on the 20th of July 2023. The device will be made available for purchase via Honor Mall, all the major authorized e-commerce platforms of China, Honor Experience stores, and also through authorized retail stores in China.
