First Batch of HMD Handsets – Revealed Codenames

This update comes from the tipster Evan Blass(@evleaks) who has shared the codenames of the upcoming HMD-branded handsets via a Twitter/X post. As per what has been shared, the first batch of HMD-branded handsets will possibly include six models with codenames of “Pulse”, “Legend”, “Pulse+”, “Legend Plus”, “Pulse Pro”, and “Legend Pro”.

The IMEI database revealed the model numbers – “N159V” and “TA-1585”, and the rendered image that was shared is said to be for the N159V model. But do note that the report also suggested that there is a chance that the two model numbers may be for the same smartphone device itself. Also, the tipster who has now shared the codenames had revealed that this smartphone will also be supporting Verizon network connectivity, while other reports are also pointing to the possibility of a Verizon carrier-exclusive variant with reasonable pricing.

Regarding the notable design features of the smartphone in the rendered image, it appears to be a budget device or a lower-midrange model, with likely a plastic rear panel having a rectangular-shaped camera module housing two camera units and an LED flashlight, along with a flat display sporting a centrally-aligned punch-hole cutout.

More updates can be expected in the coming few days, with which we can get to know more about the upcoming HMD handsets. Stay tuned.
