Apple To Leave China & Begin 50% Production in India by 2027

Many businesses learned their lesson from the COVID-19 outbreak and the restrictions it brought about: they can’t retain their production lines in a single nation. The sector was severely damaged by the successive COVID waves that erupted in China. The corporation intends to increase its manufacturing capacity in India in order to decrease its reliance on China. According to a recent estimate, the company intends to make 50% of all iPhones in India by 2027.

In order to increase production of the iPhone 14 series, the corporation exerted a little more pressure on its Indian subsidiary. The COVID-zero campaign in China had a significant impact on Apple’s 2022 flagship models. Regarding the iPhone 14 series, the situation is now improving. However, Apple intends to start production simultaneously in China and India in order to be prepared for the iPhone 15.

Reasons why Apple will stop manufacturing in China and instead do it in Vietnam and India

Apple is also concerned that the Chinese government may impose a lockdown in an effort to contain the COVID outbreak; the last time this happened, in November, Foxconn’s manufacturing line was destroyed as workers attempted to flee the COVID lockdown.
