Samsung Rolls Out New Software Update for Bespoke AI Refrigerators, Adds Voice ID and Expands TV Plus Access

Samsung Electronics has announced a new software update for its 2025 Bespoke AI Refrigerators, introducing personalised features and expanded entertainment options designed to enhance the connected home experience.
At the centre of this update is the new Voice ID feature, powered by Samsung’s Bixby voice assistant. It allows the refrigerator to recognise individual users by voice — either registered directly on the appliance or synced from a Galaxy smartphone (Galaxy S24 or later). Once identified, the fridge can switch to the corresponding Samsung account, enabling access to personal schedules, synced photos via OneDrive, and even smartphone alarms through SmartThings Find — all using voice commands.
The update also improves accessibility by allowing the fridge display to mirror visual enhancement settings from a user’s Galaxy phone, such as colour inversion or grayscale. For added convenience, users can now activate Bixby by simply double-tapping the fridge screen when it’s turned off.

Samsung is rolling out this update first to Bespoke AI Refrigerators with AI Family Hub (9-inch screens) and will extend support to Bespoke AI Refrigerators with AI Home (7-inch or 9-inch displays) later in the second quarter of 2025.
In addition, Samsung TV Plus, previously limited to South Korea and the United States, is now being expanded to Canada, Brazil, Australia, Mexico, and India for refrigerators equipped with AI Home screens. This brings more entertainment options to the kitchen, including live TV and on-demand content, directly on the fridge display.
Samsung says this update is part of its broader goal to create an intuitive, AI-powered home ecosystem through continuous software enhancements.
The update requires users to be signed in with a Samsung account, and certain features depend on integration with SmartThings, Google or Microsoft services, or Galaxy-exclusive apps.
