Meta introduces Your algorithm on Facebook that lets you shape what you see in your Feed and Reels

To enhance the user experience on the Facebook platform, Meta is introducing new AI-powered tools that help users shape what they see in Feed and Reels. The new AI-powered tools include: Your algorithm, new feedback options and more.

New AI-powered tools for Facebook

Facebook users can now fine-tune their experience and interact directly with the algorithms that rank and recommend what they see on the platform, which means users will see recommendations that are more relevant and more nuanced.

Your algorithm

Meta is rolling out Your algorithm, where you can directly add and manage the topics you want to see in Feed and Reels. You can think of it as a dedicated space to tell exactly what you are into. Your algorithm can be found in the three-dot menu.

New feedback options

The company is introducing more ways to provide feedback directly from the posts you see in Feed and Reels. After clicking ‘Interested’ or ‘Not Interested,’ Meta may ask follow-up questions for more detail on what you liked or disliked. You can easily tell in your own words what you want to see more or less of, and your recommendations will update in real time.

Ranking systems

Meta’s ranking systems work to bring the content you care about, inferring what you’re into from what you engage with on Facebook: from the posts you like and comment on to what you watch.

Large Language Models (LLMs) can incorporate the interests, context, and intent behind natural language, unlocking an algorithm you can actually talk to. Tell it what you want more or less, and your recommendations respond in real time, adapting within the same session to reflect what matters to you right now.
