Instagram reportedly tests new “Instants” app that allows sharing disappearing photos with friends

Meta-owned platform Instagram is reported to test a new-image sharing app- Instants. This app lets users share disappearing photos with friends that can be viewed only once and remain available for 24 hours.
Instants App
With this app, you can click a photo with a single tap and share it with your friends. Though you can only add text to the images, there is no editing option available. You cannot upload an image from a camera roll, and the app only lets you capture and share content using the in-app camera. Instants (as these images are called) can’t be viewed after 24 hours. Instant is designed for quick, real-life snapshots.
It is revealed that the users can choose to use Instants either within the standard Instagram app or through the standalone Instants app. Users can share Instants with their mutual followers or their Close Friends list. According to the company, these lists are the same across the Instagram and Instant apps.
The app is currently available in Spain and Italy for iOS and Android users.
This new app is said to borrow ideas from social platforms like Snapchat, Locket, and BeReal.
