Google has now brought back its Back-to-School Gemini offer for college students, and notably, a similar offer was also introduced by the company around the same time last year. This time, eligible students in the US can get one year of Google AI Pro at no cost, whereas students across more than 140 countries can get one year of Google AI Plus at no cost.

Google Back-to-School Gemini Offer – Returns for College Students
As mentioned, eligible college students can now get access to one of Google’s paid AI plans for an entire year at no cost, with students in the US getting the Google AI Pro plan, while students outside the US will be getting the Google AI Plus plan. Google’s AI subscription plans are currently available across more than 140 countries and territories, including India, although age restrictions, language availability, system requirements, usage limits, and other eligibility restrictions may apply.

Speaking about the Google AI Plus plan, it offers users 2X higher usage limits in the Gemini app when compared to users without a Google AI subscription, along with access to the Flash Thinking model. Furthermore, subscribers get 400GB of cloud storage, which is shared across Google Photos, Google Drive, and Gmail. Google’s current subscription page also confirms 400GB storage with the AI Plus plan.
Apart from this, students will also be getting more access to Google Flow, allowing them to use the company’s generative AI models for creating cinematic scenes and stories, whereas Google Search will provide increased access to Nano Banana. The plan further brings Gemini directly to Gmail, while Gemini Notebook offers more access to features such as Audio Overviews, Video Overviews, Quizzes, and other research tools.
Furthermore, increased access to Google Flow Music, the company’s AI music creation studio, is also included with the Google AI Plus plan.
Google AI Pro – Benefits for US Students
Coming to the Google AI Pro plan, eligible US college students will be getting comparatively more benefits, including 4X higher usage limits in the Gemini app, access to the Pro model, Deep Research, and other advanced AI capabilities. The plan also comes with a much larger 5TB cloud storage, shared across Google Photos, Drive, and Gmail.
Speaking more, Google AI Pro provides expanded access to Google Flow, along with access to Gemini 3 Pro, Nano Banana Pro, and other AI features within Google Search. Gemini is also integrated across supported Google apps including Gmail, Docs, Vids, Sheets, and Slides, whereas Gemini Notebook gets expanded access to Audio and Video Overviews, Quizzes, and other research-related features.
For developers, the plan further offers Google Antigravity with entry-level rate limits for agent models, the Google Developer Program Premium, expanded Google Cloud credits, as well as increased limits in Google AI Studio for prototyping, experimenting, and building with models such as Gemini 3.1 Pro and Nano Banana Pro. Expanded Gemini limits for agentic AI development within Android Studio have also been included.
Apart from this, Google AI Pro offers expanded access to Google Flow Music, while Google Health Premium is also included and provides personalized Gemini-powered guidance when used with an eligible Pixel Watch or Fitbit device.
Notably, Google AI Pro now also includes YouTube Premium Lite, which provides fewer ads on most videos along with offline viewing and background playback in supported regions. However, Google’s support page points out that the YouTube Premium Lite benefit does not activate during a free Google AI Pro or AI Pro Student trial, and will only become available once the trial converts into an eligible paid subscription.
To recall, Google had introduced a similar student offer last year as well, providing eligible college students with one year of its Google AI Pro plan at no cost during the back-to-school season. The company has now brought the offer back again, although the plan being offered differs depending on the student’s region this time.
