Amazon to slash Prime Video device limit from 10 to 5 Starting 2025

Amazon is set to implement stricter streaming limits for Prime Video users starting January 2025. The new policy will reduce the maximum number of devices per account from 10 to 5, with a specific cap of 2 TVs among those devices.

Under the updated policy, subscribers can stream Prime Video content on up to 5 devices simultaneously, including phones, tablets, and smart TVs. However, only 2 of these can be television sets. The service will maintain its device management feature, allowing users to remove and replace up to 2 existing devices within any 30-day period.

This marks a significant change from the current policy, which allows streaming on up to 10 devices. Despite the reduction in device limits, Prime Video will continue offering its full range of content, including:

  • Unlimited ad-free streaming of movies
  • Award-winning Amazon originals
  • Live sports coverage
  • TV shows from India and around the world

The service remains accessible through PrimeVideo.com and the Prime Video apps on both Android and iOS platforms. Users planning to share their accounts across multiple devices should be prepared to adjust their streaming habits when the new policy takes effect in January 2025.

For those affected by this change, Amazon recommends reviewing their connected devices and managing them accordingly before the new policy goes into effect.
