Xiaomi yesterday introduced several new products in its home market of China, including the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max smartphones. Alongside these devices, the brand also brought out the Xiaomi Pocket Guitar accessory, which can be used with both phones.

Xiaomi Pocket Guitar (M751EA)
The Xiaomi Pocket Guitar connects to a smartphone via Bluetooth and works with the Changba app for playing, singing and recording. On the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, it can also be operated through the Changba mini-app available in the rear-screen application centre, which in fact allows users to see playing instructions on the phones’ rear display, with the controls and guidance on the same side.
The app gives users access to 15,000 licensed songs, and its Free Mode lets users adjust the pitch and customise the chord settings.
There are two additional modes in this: one is the Chord Mode, in which users can select the required chord with their left hand and control strumming with their right hand. Whereas in the Rhythm Mode, it only requires them to maintain the correct strumming rhythm, without selecting individual chords. The accessory’s high-sensitivity touch controls can be used for chord selection, strumming, pitch adjustment and instrument switching.
Notably, iPhones running iOS 14 or later can also be used with the Xiaomi Pocket Guitar through the Changba app. iPhone users will be able to access the playing, pitch adjustment and song-library features. The accessory can also function as a magnetic phone stand, with an adjustable angle for portrait and landscape use.
Regarding its battery specs, it packs a 630mAh lithium-ion polymer battery and charges through a USB Type-C port. Furthermore, Xiaomi claims users can get 30 days of battery life based on one hour of daily use.
For the initial Bluetooth pairing, users need to hold the power button for three seconds and follow the onscreen intructions provied on their smartphones. The Pocket Guitar will then automatically reconnect to the most recently paired device during regular use. To reset the Bluetooth connection, users will have to hold the power button for six seconds; it enters sleep mode after one minute without activity, powers off after three minutes without activity, and also turns off one minute after being closed.
About its pricing, the Xiaomi Pocket Guitar carries a price tag of CNY 599 in China. Customers buying it as an add-on with the Xiaomi 18 Pro series can get it for CNY 499.
