Sony announces “Certified Refurbished” Digital Edition of the PS5 subsequently after the PS5 Pro was announced
Sony unveiled the upcoming PlayStation 5 Pro, which is scheduled to launch on 7 November 2024. Subsequently, Sony’s online store announced a “Certified Refurbished” Digital Edition of the PS5. The refurbished PS5 is priced at $349.99, and it will be live for sale soon. The PS5 Pro on the other hand is priced at about $699.99.
Sony certifies that every PlayStation-certified refurbished product completes a rigorous recertification process. This includes full tests that meet the same functional standards as new PlayStation products. With this, Sony ensures that a certified refurbished product works like a new product.
With PlayStation revealing the Certified Refurbished Digital Edition of the PS5, let’s see some of the differences that it holds with the upcoming PS5 Pro.
The upcoming PS5 Pro doesn’t have a disc drive or vertical stands. You will have to spend an additional $805 to get the same. The PS5 Certified Refurbished Digital Edition along with a disc drive will cost about $399.99. The GPU of the PS5 Pro includes about 67% more computing units than the PS5 Pro. Alongside, it will also provide 28% faster memory than the current PS5. You can enjoy faster rendering for gameplay with this.
Furthermore, the PS5 Pro has upgraded ray tracing. This enables rays to be cast, to attain double, or triple the speeds of the present PS5 console. It also includes PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), which is an AI-driven upscaling, meant to provide highly detailed sharp images.
Comparatively, the PS5 Pro seems overpriced than the current PS5. PlayStation fans have expressed mixed reactions to the upcoming PS5 Pro. In a recent report, responders expressed that the PS5 Pro is expensively priced.
