Sony India has officially unveiled the world’s first lens in its class with a 150mm reach and constant F2 aperture- FE 50-150mm F2 GM. This lens has now been unveiled in the Indian market.

Sony FE 50-150mm F2 GM: Features
This telephoto zoom lens is developed for creators who want next-generation versatility and expression. This is the world’s first with a maximum focal length of 150mm and an F2 aperture. Deep bokeh works with telephoto compression for creative portraits, and the large aperture is ideal for indoor events. All of this, plus internal zoom in an agile lens that weighs just 1,340g (without tripod base).
Two precision XA (extreme aspherical) elements in a state-of-the-art optical design and meticulously controlled aberration delivers breathtaking resolution at all apertures, including F2. While two Super ED (extra low dispersion) and three ED glass elements minimize chromatic aberration, and Nano AR Coating II suppresses flare and ghosting.
It offers easy handling with a length of 200 mm. The 50-150mm range allows uninterrupted shooting without the need for lens changes in many situations. There are four precision XD (extreme dynamic) linear motors that maximize the AF performance potential of modern camera bodies. Linear Response MF allows precise manual focusing, Rack focus, and zoom effects can be used with F2 depth of field to create natural transitions. Critical focus for high frame rate 4K 120fps/FHD 240p recording is easy, and the entire system operates with minimal noise and vibration.
There is an aperture ring with click ON/OFF, lock switches, three assignable focus hold buttons, a DMF switch, and ample clearance for a camera grip that enhances operability. The removable tripod foot has 6.35mm and 9.53mm screw holes and a dust/moisture resistant design ensures maximum reliability. It sports a new 11-blade circular aperture. The lens accepts standard 95mm filters.
Sony FE 50-150mm F2 GM provides a maximum magnification of 0.2x and minimum focus distances of 0.4m at wide and 0.74m at telephoto. It measures 102.8×200 mm. Internal zoom mechanism, breathing compensation, and Active mode image stabilization functions provide smooth operation for movie capture.
Buttons and switches sealed with silicone gaskets, a rubber ring that seals the lens mount, a rubber ring that seals the lens mount and other measures prevent the incursion of dust and moisture even in challenging outdoor conditions.
