After several teasers, Vivo has finally announced the launch date of the Vivo V50 smartphone. In a post on X, the company confirmed that the device will debut in the Indian market on February 17, 2025, at 12PM IST. It will be available for purchase through Flipkart, Amazon India, and Vivo India, as all three platforms have already listed the smartphone’s microsite.
Vivo has previously revealed several key details about the V50. Its rear design closely resembles the Chinese Vivo S20, but there are a few differences. While the Vivo S20 features a 6,500mAh battery, the Indian variant comes with a slightly smaller 6,000mAh battery. Additionally, unlike the S20’s flat display, the V50 sports a quad-curved screen.

According to the microsite, the Vivo V50 features a Zeiss co-engineered camera system designed to redefine portrait photography and deliver professional-quality images. It boasts an ultra-slim quad-curved display, a rounded middle frame, a 41-degree golden curvature design, and ultra-thin 0.186cm bezels. Vivo claims it is India’s slimmest smartphone (0.739cm) in the 6,000mAh category, supporting 90W Flash Charge for fast charging.
The Vivo V50 will be available in three colors: Rose Red, Titanium Grey, and Starry Blue. The Starry Blue variant introduces India’s first 3D-star technology. For selfies, the smartphone packs a 50MP front camera. On the back, it houses a 50MP ultra-wide camera with a 119-degree field of view and 4K video recording, alongside a 50MP main OIS camera powered by Vivo’s Bionic Spectrum technology. Users can explore 7 iconic ZEISS bokeh effects, a color-adaptive border, and India’s exclusive Wedding Portrait Studio. Additionally, the Aura Light now includes enhanced AI 3D Studio Light Portrait 2.0.
Built for durability, the Vivo V50 comes with IP68 & IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. It is 50% more drop-resistant than the previous generation, thanks to upgraded Shield Glass. Vivo also promises a smooth experience for up to 60 months.
The smartphone offers AI-powered features such as AI Transcript Assist, Vivo Live Call Translation, Circle to Search, and Google Gemini. It will run on Funtouch OS 15.
