The Nothing Phone (2) for the Indian Market will be Made in India Itself

The much-awaited smartphone, the upcoming Nothing Phone (2) has been in talks for quite some time and now an update reveals that the smartphone for the Indian market will be made within the country itself.

Here’s more about it.

Nothing Phone (2) to be Made in India

The launch of the Nothing Phone (2) in the Indian market has already been confirmed with its BIS certification and following it, the device was also listed on the Flipkart shopping website. Now a recent update points out that the smartphone for the Indian market will be made in India itself.

“Nothing smartphones are known for their iconic transparent design. These designs require hi-tech manufacturing processes and precision engineering which have led to the enhancement of smartphone manufacturing capabilities in India. Our drive to manufacture in India reflects our commitment to the local consumers and their demands. We are proud to announce that Phone (2) will be manufactured in India,” Manu Sharma, VP and GM of Nothing India said.

“As a young brand, we have always believed in an earth-first approach. Phone (2) is designed to be one of the most sustainable smartphones on the market,” he added.

The smartphone will be using 3x more recycled or bio-based parts compared to the previous Nothing Phone (1). It will use 100% recycled aluminum, 100% recycled copper foil, 100% recycled tin, 90% recycled steel, and 80% of sustainably sourced plastic parts.

Previously it was confirmed by the company that the smartphone would be making its debut this year in the summer and considering this fact and also the various certifications the device has received now, we can expect the smartphone to have its launch soon.

Here are the expected specifications of the Nothing Phone (2)

The upcoming Nothing Phone (2) is confirmed to arrive equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and from its Geekbench listing, it is revealed to come pre-installed with the Android 13-based operating system. The device will also be having a RAM variant with a RAM of 12GB.

Coming to its display, the device is confirmed to have a 0.15-inch larger display than its predecessor and for its cameras, is expected to feature a 50MP dual camera setup at its rear.

The device will also be backed by a 4700 mAh battery which is 200 mAh more compared to the Nothing Phone 1 and the device is expected to support fast charging capabilities as well.

To know more about the smartphone, we’ll have to wait until more updates arrive.
