Redmi K80 Ultra with 6.83″ 144Hz OLED Display, Dimensity 9400+ SoC, and D2 AI Chip Launched in China

Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has launched the Redmi K80 Ultra in its home country, China. This is the third smartphone in the Redmi K80 series, which already includes the standard (vanilla) variant and a Pro model. Both of those are already available in China, and now this third variant has officially joined the lineup.

Specs and Features

Starting with the specs, it features a sports a 6.83-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2772 × 1280 pixels and a high refresh rate of 144Hz. It offers up to 3200 nits of peak brightness, supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and HDR Vivid, and delivers ultra-precise colour with 12-bit depth and DCI-P3 colour gamut. It is protected by Xiaomi’s Dragon Crystal Glass and features an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner that supports wet-touch unlock.

It is powered by a 3nm MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset, featuring an octa-core CPU with a peak clock speed of 3.73GHz and the Immortalis-G925 MC12 GPU. It is further supported by a dedicated D2 AI display chip that handles super-resolution upscaling, frame interpolation, and advanced HDR rendering simultaneously. For memory and storage, users can choose from configurations of 12GB or 16GB LPDDR5X RAM, paired with 256GB, 512GB, or up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage.

The K80 Ultra is equipped with a 50MP main camera (1/1.55″ sensor, OIS, f/1.88 aperture) and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. The front camera is a 20MP shooter suited for portraits and video calls. The phone supports 8K and 4K video recording, slow motion up to 960fps, and a range of AI-assisted features like motion tracking and HDR10+ imaging.

Battery life is another standout feature, thanks to a massive 7410mAh battery supported by Xiaomi’s Surge P3 and G1 chips. It supports 100W wired charging via a USB Type-C port and comes bundled with a 120W charger. Audio is handled by dual stereo speakers tuned for immersive sound with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res certification, while the ultra-wideband X-axis linear motor enhances haptics with ring drive IC for responsive feedback.

Connectivity features include support for Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, dual 5G SIM slots, NFC, an IR blaster, and a full GNSS suite including GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, NavIC, and BDS. The phone runs Xiaomi HyperOS 2 based on Android 15.

Redmi K80 Ultra comes in four colour options, Sandstone Grey, Moon Rock White, Ice Blade Blue, and Spruce Green.
