During the Snapdragon Summit 2026, Qualcomm officially introduced its newest premium mobile lineup: the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 SoC and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 SoC.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 & Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6
Both SoCs are manufactured on a 2nm process technology. They share an architectural foundation utilising Qualcomm’s custom 64-bit Oryon CPU, an updated Adreno GPU subsystem, and a reengineered Hexagon Neural Processing Unit (NPU).
The CPU configuration on both SoCs features 2 prime cores clocked at up to 5.0GHz, and 6 performance cores clocked at up to 4.0GHz, backed by 16MB of Qualcomm Oryon Flex Cache. The chipsets support memory up to 24GB LPDDR5x/6 at up to 5300MHz, and UFS 5.0 storage.
The platforms arrive with Qualcomm AI Engine designed for agentic, proactive workflows. Utilising the low-power Qualcomm Sensing Hub- equipped with dual Micro NPUs and dual Always-Sensing ISPs- the architecture allows on-device assistants to continuously analyse contextual data and coordinate multi-app tasks without persistent user prompting.
They feature the Qualcomm Spectra Image Signal Processor with triple 20-bit AI-ISPs, supporting single sensors up to 320MP (or up to 108MP with zero shutter lag) and triple camera arrays up to 64MP. Intelligent Pixel control, real-time 3D-LUT color mapping via the Elite Color Engine, and motion intelligence stabilisation are some other camera features.
The audio processing is handled by the Snapdragon Sound Technology Suite, incorporating AI Voice Bubble for background noise isolation, post-capture AI audio separation, and low-latency spatial audio rendering with head tracking.
Wireless connectivity is supported by the Qualcomm X10 5G Modem-RF System and the FastConnect 8800 Mobile connectivity system. The X10 5G Modem supports 5G Advanced across mmWave and sub-6GHz spectrums, with peak downlink rates reaching up to 14.8Gbps and uplinks up to 4.2Gbps. The FastConnect 8800 subsystem introduces a 4×4 WiFi architecture compatible with WiFi 8 alongside WiFi 7/6 standards.
Bluetooth 6.0 with High Data Throughput, Channel Sounding, Ultra-Wideband, and Thread 1.4 are additional connectivity standards. Both support Unreal Engine 5 features, while the display features include up to 4K+ resolution at 120Hz or QHD+ resolution at 240Hz.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6
It enables 8K video capture at up to 60fps, 4K super slow motion at up to 240fps, and hardware support for the Advanced Professional Video recording codec. The chipset comes with Qualcomm Adreno Neural Fusion, which uses dedicated Adreno matrix cores to offload rendering workloads and improve frame delivery.
The chipset offers a 13% increase in CPU performance, a 44% increase in GPU performance and 35% improved NPU performance when compared to Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6
This chipset offers a 10% increase in CPU performance, a 35% improvement in GPU performance and a 14% boost in NPU performance when compared to Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
Availability
Devices powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 will debut in flagship smartphones from leading global OEMs and smartphone brands, including Honor, iQOO, Motorola, OnePlus, Oppo, Redmi, RedMagic, Vivo and Xiaomi.
