Qualcomm officially unveils Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC with 27% improved CPU and 65% improved NPU

After introducing the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC last month, Qualcomm has now officially introduced yet another chipset- the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. This chipset arrives with a 27% improved CPU, 30% improved GPU, and 65% improved NPU when compared to its predecessor.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4: Features
It comes with a Kryo CPU that comprises one prime core at up to 2.8GHz, four performance cores at up to 2.4GHz, and three efficiency cores at up to 1.84GHz.. The chipset is built with TSMC 4nm process technology. It features Qualcomm Hexagon NPU that includes fused AI accelerator Hexagon Tensor Accelerator, Hexagon Vector eXtensions, Hexagon Scalar Accelerator, support for mix precision (INT4, INT8, and INT16), Qualcomm Sensing Hub, dedicated NPUs for audio and sensors.
It features a 5G Modern-RF System, sub-6GHz, and supports 5G download speeds of up to 4.2 Gbps. Coming to WiFi & Bluetooth connectivity, the chipset supports up to WiFi 7, 6GHz (WiFi spectral bands), Bluetooth 6.0, LE audio, Bluetooth Channel Sounding, Snapdragon Sound Technology suite, with support for Qualcomm aptX Voice, aptX Lossless, and aptX Adaptive.
The chipset has a 12-bit Triple ISP with support for up to 200MP photo capture. Other camera features supported- auto focus, auto exposure, auto white balance, Hardware Electronic Image Stabilization, Massive Multi-Frame Noise Reduction, up to 10-bit color depth photo and video capture, HDR10 and HLG video formats, 4K @ 30 FPS HDR video capture+ 64 MP photo capture, 4K staggered HDR, and motion compensated temporal filtering.
For audio, it supports Qualcomm Aqstic audio codec, Aqstic smart speaker amplifier, 108 dB Playback, Qualcomm Audio and Voice communication suite. About the display, the chipset supports WQHD+ @ 144Hz for on-device display and up to 4K @ 60Hz for maximum external display with 10-bit color depth. The chipset is paired with an Adreno GPU that supports HDR gaming, OpenGL*ES 3.2, OpenCL 2.0 FP, Vulkan*1.3 API support, HDR Playback Codec support for HLG, HDR10+, HDR10, and HDR vivid.
For security, it comes with Qualcomm Trusted Execution Environment & Services, Trust Management Engine, Qualcomm wireless edge services and premium security features, and Qualcomm Type-1 Hypervisor. It supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 5 technology, triple frequency GNSS, sensor-assisted positioning, Concurrent GPS, Glonass, BeiDou, Galileo, QZSS, and NavIC.
