Qualcomm officially unveiled Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 SoC; First-in-series to support INT4 precision

Qualcomm has yesterday officially unveiled the successor of Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 SoC- Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 SoC which is the first in the series that is built on TSMCs 4nm mode and also comes with support for INT4 precision that makes AI-powered experiences faster. Let’s dive in to know all the detailed information.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 4: Features

This chipset becomes the first in a series to get ARMv9-based CPU cores. It comes with four cores clocked at 1.8GHz, three cores clocked at 2.2GHz, and one core clocked at 2.3GHz. It features Adreno GPU and Kryo CPU. The Kryo CPU offers 11% improved performance, GPU offers 29% improved performance, and 12% power savings when compared to its predecessor, Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. It comes with Gen AI support, offers a 4K gaming experience, and wireless lossless audio.

It supports up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM while LPDDR4x is also an option. For storage, it supports UFS 3.1. For the camera, it features triple 12-bit ISPs with support for sensors up to 200MP. It can record video at up to 4K HDR at 30fps. For video HDR10 and HLG formats are supported and for photos 10-bit HEIF format is supported.  There is a Hexagon NPU with Int4 precision. Connectivity options include- Wi-fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4 (with LE Audio), USB 3.1, L1+L2+L5 location, and 5G (sub-6GHz and mmWave, multi-SIM). For display, it offers support for FHD+ resolution that offers 144Hz refresh rate, up to 4K at 60Hz, 10-bit color depth, HDR10, and  HDR10+ support. Select Snapdragon Elite gaming features to deliver gassed-up gaming experiences.

Realme, Oppo, and Honor brands are expected to soon introduce devices with this chipset in the coming months.
