Powered by MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra Chipset, Redmi Turbo 5 Officially Launched in India With 60% Buyback Promise; Sales to Start From June 19th

The Chinese consumer electronics maker, Xiaomi, has officially unveiled the Redmi Turbo 5 smartphone in the Indian market. The smartphone’s first sale will be commencing on the 19th of June 2026 in the country, and in terms of specs, it brings a similar spec sheet as that of the one launched in China. However, the Indian variant packs a slightly smaller battery, which is 20 mAh less than the Chinese variant.

Redmi Turbo 5 India – Specs and Features
This new Redmi Turbo 5 smartphone that has been launched in India features a bold premium flagship-like design, inspired by precision engineering and high-speed motion. It comes with a dual side glass design, an aerospace-grade metal central frame, IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69 K ratings, and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection.
Just like the one in the Chinese variant, this one also comes with Redmi Pixel Matrix lighting embedded inside the camera module, which is designed to pulse with notifications, move with music, and offer game lighting effects, incoming call reminders, rhythmic light effects, and eight built-in colors with adjustable brightness. Three color choices are available for the smartphone – Asphalt Black, Nitro Blue, and Turbo White.
A 6.59″ AMOLED display screen is present on the device, offering 2756 x 1268 pixels resolution, 460 PPI pixel density, 68 billion colors, 120Hz refresh rate, 480Hz touch sampling rate, and 2560Hz instant touch sampling rate. The next-gen M10 display panel is also offered with improved luminous efficiency and reduced power consumption. The display further supports 3500 nits peak brightness at 1% OPR, 3500 nits brightness at 25% OPR, 3840Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, and circadian eye-comfort mode.
MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500 Ultra chip powers the device, which comes paired with a Mali G720 GPU, and compared to predecessor cores, Xiaomi claims 25% better power efficiency and 12% performance boost. LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage are further specs, ensuring faster app loading, smoother multitasking, and quicker file transfers and game loads. However, the LPDDR5X Ultra RAM is only given with the 12GB RAM option.
For gaming, the Redmi Turbo 5 supports WildBoost Optimization with integrated dynamic frequency scaling across CPU, GPU, and DDR. Stable frame rates, stable high display brightness, high FPS maintenance, 1.5K Super Resolution, and Game HDR are also part of the device. An advanced 5300 mm² stainless steel LHP + graphite layer cooling system is packed within it, offering 3x better cooling than traditional vapour chambers as per Xiaomi Internal Labs.
A 7540 mAh large battery is given with an advanced smart battery management system with G1 + P3 power management chips, Battery Health Management 2.0, Night Intelligent Charging 2.0, and Battery Aging Prediction and Repair. Also to note here is that the one which is available in China comes with a 7560mAH battery. For a faster charging experience, 100W HyperCharge support is also present, while a 27W reverse charging feature lets the device work as a pocket power bank. Xiaomi claims that the device can charge up to 51% in 30 minutes and 100% in 70 minutes.
Coming to its cameras, the Redmi Turbo 5 features a 50MP HDR main camera with Sony IMX882 sensor, f/1.8 aperture, 6P lens, and 1/1.95″ sensor size. An 8MP ultra-wide camera with f/2.2 aperture is also present at the rear, offering a broader perspective for users. For selfies, the device sports a 20MP front-facing camera.
AI Bokeh, AI Beautify, AI Sky, and AI Erase along with Portrait mode with Classic, Focus, and Artistic styles, Turbo Snap with support for capturing up to 100 photos, and 4K 60FPS video recording with OIS + EIS are further camera-related features.
The Redmi Turbo 5 runs on Xiaomi HyperOS 3, and the brand has promised four years of OS updates and six years of security patches. Lock Screen Personalization, Xiaomi HyperIsland, Xiaomi HyperConnect, Xiaomi HyperAI, Google Gemini AI, Circle to Search, Gemini Image Generation, and Gemini Deep Search are among the software features offered on the device.
Dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio are also present on the device, delivering up to 200% louder sound than regular phones. Connectivity specs include Xiaomi T1S Tuner, Bluetooth 6.0, Wi-Fi 7, and Xiaomi Offline Communication, with the latter allowing nearby Xiaomi phones to make voice calls even when there is no mobile network or Wi-Fi.
Redmi Turbo 5 India – Pricing and Availability
The Redmi Turbo 5 smartphone will be available for purchase via Amazon India, Xiaomi India official website, Xiaomi retail stores, and other partner channels starting from the 19th of June 2026 at 12 noon.
Two storage variants are available for the smartphone. The 8GB + 256GB variant has an introductory limited-period offer price of INR 35,999, while the 12GB + 256GB variant is priced at INR 38,999. The above pricing includes the INR 2,000 instant bank discount on SBI Bank, ICICI Bank, and Axis Bank credit cards and credit card EMI transactions. A 9-month no-cost EMI option and 3-month Spotify Premium Standard access are also part of the launch offers.

To add, customers will also be able to get an assured 60% buyback value within one year of purchase. As mentioned by the brand, for the 8GB + 256GB variant with a device price of INR 37,999, customers can get an offer discount of INR 2,000, bringing the effective price down to INR 35,999. With the assured buyback value of INR 22,799, the one-year experience cost comes to INR 13,200.
