Xiaomi’s sub-brand POCO has now launched a new smartphone under its M8 series in the Indian market, called the POCO M8x 5G, and notably, it is the first smartphone in India to come equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 processor. Furthermore, this is the third smartphone introduced by the brand under its M8 series in the country.

POCO M8x 5G – Specifications and Features
Starting with its display, the POCO M8x 5G features a 6.9″ HD+ LCD display with a 1600 × 720 pixel resolution and up to 120Hz refresh rate. Furthermore, the screen gets Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection and has received TÜV Rheinland Triple Eye certifications for Low Blue Light, Circadian Friendly, and Flicker-Free performance.
Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 Mobile Platform, built using a 4nm process and featuring an octa-core CPU with a maximum clock speed of 2.4GHz, along with an Adreno GPU. Notably, POCO claims that the M8x 5G is the first smartphone in India to feature the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset, while up to 43% faster app launches compared to the previous generation have also been claimed.
Speaking more, the device is offered with 4GB/6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS 2.2 storage, while expandable storage through a dedicated microSD card slot is also supported.
Coming to its battery, the POCO M8x 5G packs a massive 7,900mAh battery, which is claimed to offer up to three days of usage, and supports 45W wired fast charging. According to the brand, around a day’s worth of charge can be achieved in approximately 30 minutes. Furthermore, 22.5W wired reverse charging is also supported, thereby allowing users to charge compatible accessories and other devices using the smartphone.
For photography, the smartphone carries a 50MP AI dual rear camera setup, accompanied by an LED flash, whereas an 8MP selfie camera is present at the front. The primary camera further supports 2X in-sensor zoom, while multiple photography features are offered as well.
On the audio side, the newly launched device features dual stereo speakers, Hi-Res Audio certification, and up to 300% Volume Boost, further improving the multimedia experience.
Speaking of its design, the POCO M8x 5G measures 170.12 × 78.43 × 8.8mm in dimensions and weighs 232gm. The Leather Green colour option comes with a vegan leather finish, whereas Blue and Black colour choices have also been introduced. Furthermore, the smartphone carries an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance.
The POCO M8x 5G runs on Xiaomi HyperOS 3 based on Android 16, and notably, the brand has promised four generations of Android OS upgrades as well as six years of security updates for the device.
As for connectivity, the smartphone supports 5G, dual 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, USB Type-C, and OTG, while a side-mounted fingerprint sensor is also present.
Pricing and Availability
The POCO M8x 5G has been launched in 4GB/128GB and 6GB/128GB memory variants, priced at INR 20,999 (INR 18,999 with launch offer) and INR 22,999, respectively.
The smartphone will go on sale starting 27th August 2026 at 12 Noon via Flipkart, and buyers will be able to choose between Leather Green, Blue, and Black colour options.
