POCO M8s 5G Featuring 6.9″ FHD+ Dot Display, Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 SoC, 7000mAh Battery Announced Globally

The POCO M8s 5G smartphone, which was previously spotted on the Geekbench database, has now been officially announced by Xiaomi for global markets. The brand has shared the announcement via a press release, confirming its key specifications and features.

POCO M8s 5G – Specs and Features
Starting with the display, the POCO M8s 5G smartphone features a 6.9″ FHD+ dot display that supports up to a 144Hz refresh rate. It offers a typical brightness of 700 nits and a peak brightness of up to 850 nits under HBM (High Brightness Mode). The display is also TÜV Rheinland-certified with Low Blue Light (Software Solution), Circadian Friendly, and Flicker-Free certifications, aiming to reduce eye strain during prolonged usage. Additionally, with Wet Touch 2.0 support, the display is claimed to function even when the user’s hands are wet or oily.
In terms of design, the POCO M8s 5G smartphone features a quad-curved back panel and a metal-crafted camera module that gives it a premium look. The device measures 169.48mm x 80.45mm x 8.40mm in dimensions and weighs about 217g, offering a solid in-hand feel.
Powering the device is the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 processor, and the POCO M8s 5G smartphone is claimed to have achieved an AnTuTu V11.0.8 score of over 620,000. With memory extension support, the device can offer up to 16GB of LPDDR4X RAM, including 8GB of virtual RAM, and it comes with up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. The storage can also be expanded further via a microSD card of up to 2TB. On the software side, the smartphone runs on HyperOS 2 based on Android 15, and it features Xiaomi Interconnectivity, enabling a seamless experience across supported Xiaomi ecosystem devices.
On the camera side, the POCO M8s 5G smartphone sports a dual rear camera system consisting of a 50MP main sensor and an auxiliary secondary sensor. For selfies, it is equipped with an 8MP front-facing camera. Both front and rear cameras support 1080p HD video recording at 30fps.
Speaking about the battery, the device packs a large 7000mAh battery, which is claimed to offer up to 2.31 days of usage. Even at 1% battery level, users can reportedly get up to 59 minutes of calling time or up to 7.5 hours of standby time. The battery is also said to perform under extreme cold conditions, and after 1600 charge cycles, it is claimed to retain 80% or more of its original capacity. The smartphone supports 33W wired fast charging and also offers 18W reverse wired charging. In testing scenarios, POCO states that 10 minutes of reverse charging can provide up to 11 hours and 10 minutes of standby on the POCO X7, and up to 64 minutes of calling time on the POCO M7 Pro 5G.
For connectivity, the POCO M8s 5G smartphone supports dual SIM, dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.1, NFC (region-dependent), and multiple navigation systems including GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou. Additional features include an IP64-rated dust and water resistance, side-mounted fingerprint sensor, IR blaster, AI face unlock, Hi-Res Audio, and Dolby Atmos support.

As for the pricing and availability, the POCO M8s 5G smartphone has been introduced in two colour options – Black and White – and two storage variants. The 6GB/128GB model is priced at $189, while the 8GB/256GB model is priced at $219.
