Launch Date of the Google Pixel Fold and the Pixel 7a Tipped: Here’s More About it

We have by now received a lot many updates about the upcoming Google Pixel Fold and the Google Pixel 7a devices. Now the launch date of the two devices has been tipped.

Jon Prosser, the well-known tipster has tipped the launch date of the upcoming Google Pixel Fold and the Google Pixel 7a devices on Twitter. From what has been tipped, as expected Google would probably launch its latest devices at the I/O developer conference scheduled on the 10th of May, 2023

For the Google Pixel Fold, the device will be available for pre-order on the same day itself and the pre-orders from carriers and other partners will start from the 30th of May. The device will be available in the market starting from June 27 for open sales.

The Google Pixel 7a after its launch is expected to be available for purchase immediately. The device will be available in four colour choices – Charcoal, Snow, Sea(light blue) and Coral, and the Coral color variant will only be available via Google Store only.

It has also been mentioned that the company, with the launch of the Google Pixel 7a, won’t be discontinuing the Pixel 6a smartphone any soon.

The tipster has also mentioned that the Google Pixel Fold is expected to have a price of $1,799 whereas the Google Pixel 7a will have a starting price of $499.

Here are the expected specifications of the two devices

The Google Pixel Fold is the very first foldable device from Google and is expected to come equipped with the Google Tensor G2 chipset. The device is also likely to operate on the Android 13-based operating system.

The upcoming device is also expected to feature a 7.6″ foldable OLED display with a screen resolution of 1840 x 2208 pixels.

It is also expected that the device would have a triple camera setup on its rear with a 64MP main camera, 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 10MP telephoto camera. For selfies, it is likely to have a 10MP front-facing camera as well.

Regarding its battery backup, we can expect a 4500 mAh battery backup with USB type-C fast charging support.

Now coming to the Pixel 7a smartphone, the smartphone is expected to be powered by the same Google Tensor G2 (5 nm) chipset which has a primary clock speed of 2.85 GHz. The device is also expected to come pre-loaded with the Android 13 operating system and will likely have the Mali-G710 MP7 GPU.

The upcoming smartphone is also expected to feature an OLED display panel with a screen size of 6.1 inches and a screen resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. It is also likely to have a refresh rate of 90Hz.

On its rear, the smartphone should probably have a dual camera setup with a 64MP main camera and a 12MP ultra-wide camera. It is also expected to have an 8MP front-facing camera.

The Google Pixel 7a might also come equipped with a 4500 mAh battery with an 18W fast charge feature.

All these specifications as mentioned are expected specifications of the two devices. We’ll have to wait for its official launch to confirm it.
