Apple iPhone 16 Pro Models Might Feature Wi-Fi 7 and a 48MP Ultrawide Camera: Reveals Tech Analyst

Apple is expected to launch its iPhone 15 series devices soon in the month of September and now, a recent report points out that the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro models might come with Wi-Fi 7 support and would probably feature a 48MP ultrawide camera at its rear.

Here’s more about it.

iPhone 16 Pro Models – Wi-Fi 7 and 48MP Ultrawide Camera

This update comes from Jeff Pu(received via MacRumors), a tech analyst at Haitong International Securities, who in a research note has revealed that the Pro models of the iPhone 16 series, which includes the iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max devices, are likely going to support Wi-Fi 7 and may have a 48MP ultrawide camera at its rear from the 12MP ultrawide lens that is currently being used in the Pro models.

With the help of Wi-Fi 7 support, Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max devices will be able to send and receive data simultaneously over 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz Wi-Fi bands. This will enable the device to achieve faster Wi-Fi speeds with lower latency and a more reliable stable connection. Incorporating the necessary technology, the devices will be able to offer a peak data transfer speed of more than 40 Gbps and this is four times the speed of a device with Wi-Fi 6E support. To add, the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models are expected to use Wi-Fi 6E itself and the previous iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models came with Wi-Fi 6 support.

The use of a 48MP ultrawide camera is also a significant improvement for the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models, which will enable the devices to capture more light in lower light environments while shooting in 0.5x mode.

We are more than a year away from the launch of the iPhone 16 series that are expected to debut in September 2024 and we can only confirm these specs with its official updates, as there is always a chance that Apple might change its plans.
